Whispers of the City
Copyright: 2/20/96
Willows wisp in the unknown breeze
Soft chirps of crickets vibrate the midnight air
Uncommon nocturnal creatures scathe the swelling trees
While the city below gently weeps without care.
Bending forward and backward
Willows weep slowly and slyly
City lights flicker the chord
A morning robin smiles wryly.
The city never sleeps moving constantly on the wind
Morning dew and smog fills my nostrils and lungs
First light, dawn becomes morning city on the mend
Whispers alight from distances reaching the brass rung.
The leaves whisper silently
Willows sway in the storm
The wind blows only for me
Watch the eagles soar.
Fire ignites the forest as small creatures run left and right
Rain falls, but still no end to the chaotic death
Fire spreads and the animals run for their lives
Speak now or animals and people alike take the last breath.
The forest goes without a sound
Nature crumbles near and far
Animals stay close and hug the ground
Flickering lunacy become the stars.
The earth shakes and rumbles like some sort of dream
Dropping down what seems like miles into a roll
People flee for cover and doorways suppressing their screams
Aftershock shaking, pins attacking a ball bowled.
The big one has finally hit
Wreckage and ruins
Slime of the city grit
Nature's own reality doing.
Rain is unheard of in the vast wasteland city
A year will go by in fear of a total drought
Maybe once a year God takes pity
Los Angeles is the city plagued and brought.
Animals and people alike rejoice
Together in the midst they feel free
Time to make the choice
Rains leave quickly passing the city's key.
Gangs and disorder rule the tourist trapped streets
Vehemence rages the only sons of the young blood
Killing and wasting all the innocent people they meet
Living in sin and wallowing in the superficial crud.
Murdering rights on the blameless
City under siege from gang lords
What happens to the shameless?
Will they all die by the sword?

Volatile
Volatile
Copyright - 2/3/96
When prejudice, racism and disorder rules the streets
People running, screaming and the city becomes ablaze
Beatings and shootings, gangsters favorite hideaway
One man with a brick put another in a daze
Rioting and vehemence graveling for days
Gangs take over, they think they've got us beat.
Street violence, city comes apart at the seams
Over one man's stupidity no one can see
Killing, raping and pillaging stores a disgrace
Punish the guilty that's certainly the key
Perpetrating violence because of race
In every way necessary or what's deemed.
Stealing and looting all because of a verdict
Disagreeable and disgruntled people run wild
Men, women and children impressed with danger
Vandalism overtakes, so much for the mild
Ball up their fists haul off on a stranger
Crime is a habit the should be kicked.
A man was tried and should be convicted
Now riots break out all over the states
People don't understand cops did their job
Video tape not allowed up for debate
Racism blamed for crime, time they've robbed
Brutal slayings outstanding words said.
Man goes free, now cops sit rotting in jail
The man breaks the law again and runs
Crime pays and the intruder went free
The cops will die after everything is said and done
This is not right or fair, can't they see?
Sentenced to time in prison private hell.
