Cutie Pie Mauw Mauw

We have a wonderful Parson's Jack Russell named Mauw Mauw. She is such a delight and a cutie pie. She's a rescue, we got her when she was 8 months old from a breeder.

Mauw Mauw's Story:

Mauw Mauw was born into a litter from a reputable breeder in the Buffalo, NY area. The breeder sold her to someone who took her home. Not too long after they took her home they brought her back to the breeder stating that she was not a "real" Jack Russell and demanded their money back. The breeder gave them the money back and took her back.

She is, in fact, what they call a Parson's Jack Russell. Parson's Jack Russell's can have slightly different coloring and they stand taller than the typical Jack Russell. Mauw Mauw is a solid white color, but she does have the Jack Russell spots on her ears, underbelly and in her mouth. And, of course, she is energetic like any Jack Russell.

After the breeder took her back she was not able to sell her again because she was too old and the breeder was not able to acquire the AKC registration after the dog had come back. So, technically Mauw should be AKC registered but its just not possible to do that anymore.

The breeder had to find a home for Mauw, but in the meantime she could not keep her living with her at her apartment. She was only allowed 2 dogs and she had 2 dogs already. She had Mauw's mom and dad so she decided to place Mauw with her sister, her husband and kids.

Some time after she placed Mauw with her sister and her husband she went over to visit. When she visited she was really upset of how they were treating Mauw Mauw. They were abusing her very badly. Apparently is was so extreme that the breeder did not even want to talk about it. When we met her and asked her about it she almost started crying, so we dropped it and figured we did not want to know what she had walked in on. There is no telling what they were doing to our poor baby.

The breeder immediately took Mauw and told her sister she'd never give her another dog again. So she was able to get her landlord to agree to her keeping Mauw temporarily while she found a good home for her.

I had put an ad in Craigslist asking for a puppy. My sister had a stroke in August 2006 and we wanted a puppy that could help her and us. We needed a dog that could let me know if something was wrong with my sister and one that would be close to both of us. The breeder answered my ad and from there we acquired Mauw Mauw. She has been a complete blessing in our lives, we love her dearly.

Here are some pics that I have of her:
