The Child

The Child
Copyright - 2/1/96

The child sits undisturbed in a corner
Quiet and alone
No man or woman to care
Small and weak
The child sits in a corner
Leaves without a sound.

The child cries silently to himself
Feeling down and belittled
No one to care or watch
Cold and in solitude
The child cries silently to himself
Abused almost killed.

Degrading circumstances
Unreal love to bare
Reality enhances
Life in the demon's lair.

The child sobs costly in the dark
In his crumpled bed
No love sharing with his elders
Lost child gone
The child sobs costly
In his own head.

The child hides behind real tears
Alone inside
Parental guidance means nothing
Lost love gone
The child hides behind his tears
Time to abide.

Unusual love approval
Nothing to surrender
Life void and null
Unhappy package sender.

The child weeps
While he sleeps
Soul to keep
Scars run deep.
